The Noble Horse, located at 1410 N. Orleans in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood, is one of our city’s most unique historic venues. Noble Horse is currently Chicago’s last remaining Riding Hall, and also serves as headquarters for one of the city’s most popular carriage rides services.

Athenaeum Theatre, located on Southport Avenue in Lake View, opened in 1911 as part of the campus of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Conceived as a neighborhood playhouse by the original German-American parish, the historic building is the oldest continuously operating off-Loop theater in Chicago.

One of the largest vacant parcels of developed land on the North Side is the historic Julia Lathrop Homes. The future of this public housing site has been coming into focus in recent months, and the process has created a bitter confrontation between former residents, neighbors, community activists, and the Chicago Housing Authority.

Located at 5029 N. Kenmore Avenue in Uptown, Agudas Achim North Shore Congregation Synagogue stands as Chicago’s lone surviving example of a grand, cathedral-style synagogue. In it’s heyday, the 23,000-square-foot synagogue regularly drew more than 2,000 people for Shabbat services. Today it stands vacant and for sale at an asking price of $1.99 million.
